The Rose Bottoms are loose-fitting shorts and pants with an elastic high waist and some fun details. Views A and C feature a single back patch pocket and a hem band with a V cutout that is extra eye-catching in striped fabric. View B and D have slanted and curved front pockets, two patch pockets in back, and the shorts length has a flat- felled slit in the side seam. The shorts have a shorter inseam that makes them perfect for the beach or as pyjamas. The pant length hits right at the ankle, and they would make great winter pyjamas or summer pants.

The bottoms go perfectly with the Rose Raglan Button Up and feature a lot of the same details, such as flat-felled seam slits, similar pockets, and hem bands with opposite grainlines for some play with directional fabrics.

Using This Pattern in Your Next Project

Fabric

This pattern is designed for woven fabrics. The look and feel of the bottoms will change depending on the fabric you choose. Something light like cotton poplin or seersucker will make the perfect beach or pyjama bottoms. Mid-weight fabric like linen or chambray will make a great everyday pair, and you could even make them in denim for a different type of jean short (you may need to increase the seam allowance in heavier-weight fabrics like denim or canvas).
