The Big G&G Sewcial 2026

A Celebration of Sewing, Community and Creativity

What a day! On Saturday 17th October, we welcomed our lovely sewing community to Moseley Village for The Big G&G Sewcial 2026, and it really was such a special day!

From catching up with familiar faces and meeting new sewing friends to swapping fabrics, browsing the Makers Market and raising money for three wonderful charities, there was SO much going on!

I've put together a little round-up of the day, along with some of my favourite photos, so we can look back on all the lovely things that happened.

A HUGE Thank You! ❤️

First of all, I want to say the BIGGEST thank you to everyone who came along and helped make The Big G&G Sewcial such a wonderful day!

It was SO lovely to see Moseley filled with sewists and creative people, all coming together to share their love of making. Some of you travelled to join us, others popped in from just around the corner, and it was brilliant to see so many people enjoying everything we'd organised.

One of my favourite things about these events is seeing people who might only know each other through Instagram or our online sewing community finally getting to meet in person. There was so much chatting, sharing of handmade outfits and general sewing excitement!

A huge thank you also goes to our wonderful G&G team, volunteers, local businesses, makers and everyone who helped us bring the day together. We really couldn't have done it without you! ❤️

Together We Raised £2,640.99! 🎉

I can't tell you how grateful I am for every single donation, prize draw entry and bit of support we received.

It's such a lovely reminder of what our creative community can achieve when we all come together!

A Busy Day at G&G! 🧵✂️

There was SO much going on back at the G&G shop and studio throughout the day, and I absolutely loved seeing everyone getting stuck in!

Our Fabric, Pattern and Garment Swaps were a huge part of the fun, with lots of lovely sewing goodies finding new homes. There was plenty of rummaging through fabrics and patterns, and it was brilliant to see handmade garments being passed on for someone else to enjoy.

I think there's something really special about giving those fabrics, patterns and handmade clothes another chance to be loved!

And of course, we had our Haberdashery Tombola too! It was lovely seeing everyone having a go and taking home a few sewing treats, all while helping us raise money for our three charities.

Alongside all the swapping and tombola excitement, there was badge making, refreshments and plenty of fabric shopping happening too!

Our Charity Prize Draw! 🎟️❤️

We were also SO lucky to have an AMAZING selection of prizes for our charity prize draw, generously donated by some wonderful sewing brands, independent businesses and members of our creative community.

A HUGE thank you to every single business that donated a prize. Your generosity helped us raise money for three brilliant causes, and we really do appreciate it!

Our prize draw has now taken place and all the lucky winners have been contacted by email! 🎉

If you entered, do have a little check of your inbox to see if you've won something lovely!

And to everyone who bought a ticket or made a donation, thank you SO much for getting involved. ❤️

The Makers Market at Moseley Exchange 🛍️

Another lovely part of the day was our Makers Market at Moseley Exchange, which brought together a brilliant mix of independent makers, creatives and small businesses.

It was such a treat to see all the gorgeous handmade products, creative ideas and talented people in one place!

There was plenty to browse, and I loved seeing everyone chatting with the makers, discovering new businesses and supporting independent creatives.

A huge thank you to all the lovely stallholders who joined us and helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. It was brilliant to have you as part of the Sewcial!

A Little Love for Moseley Village ❤️

Something that made this year's Sewcial extra special was seeing our lovely Moseley community get involved too.

We wanted the day to feel like more than just an event at G&G. It was a chance to welcome everyone into Moseley, explore the village, support independent businesses and enjoy spending time together.

From our friends at Moseley Hive and Moseley Exchange to the local businesses and everyone who helped spread the word, it was wonderful to have so much support.

We're really lucky to have G&G in such a lovely part of Birmingham, and I hope everyone who visited enjoyed spending a little time exploring the village too!

Until Next Time... 💛

Looking back at all the photos, I'm still smiling at what a lovely day it was!

The Big G&G Sewcial was everything I'd hoped it would be. A chance to bring people together, celebrate our shared love of sewing, support some brilliant independent businesses and, most importantly, raise money for three wonderful charities.

Thank you SO much to everyone who visited, donated (in person and from a far online!), volunteered, shared our posts, brought something along to swap or helped us spread the word. Every little bit of support made a difference.

And a special thank you to our wonderful G&G team for all the hard work that went into making the day happen!

It's days like these that remind me just how special our sewing community really is. ❤️

Save the date for next year Saturday 16th October 2027.
