Two Stitches Frida Dress

in cosy Liberty needlecord

As baby Sophia gets bigger and bigger and is wearing more and more little outfits, I’ve been enjoying planning sewing projects just for her.

The Two Stitches Frida dress is a simple and cute little dress that can be stitched up in no time. I made mine using this lovely Liberty needlecord which I thought would be great layered up with a vest and cardy in the winter. It’s really soft and warm feeling but at the same time really light weight.

It has pleats at the centre front, which helps the dress to be fuller at the front and add to the A-line shape. This makes is really easy to fit, especially for older babies or for babies that have a cute baby belly.

At the centre back there is a nice big opening to make it easy to take on and off with a button and button loop at the top.

The smallest size is 6-12 months so its still a bit on the big side for S but I'm sure she'll grow into it in no time.

If you are still quite new to dressmaking then I think its a nice project to do as it has a facing so you get to practise inserting that and doing some under stitching too. And babies really don't mind if it's not perfect!
