The Imogen Pyjamas are a jersey pyjama set that are designed to keep you comfortable and snug in the colder months. They’re easy to sew and easy to fit, so you can make Imogen for yourself or as a gift too!
Imogen features pattern pieces for two different tops as well as a classic pair of PJ bottoms, giving you great pattern mileage and options for making the set again and again.
For the top you can choose between two different styles. Version 1 is more fitted and the neckline is finished with a Henley placket and sew-on snaps. Version 2 has a looser fit and features a yoke at the front and back – making a nice speedy sew! The pattern comes with full length sleeves, but these could easily be shortened if you prefer.
In her top tips video Lauren demonstrates how to add cuffs to the sleeves using the ribbing fabric. This g&g addition to the pattern gives a neat finish to the top and helps to keep your wrists nice and warm!
The bottoms feature an elasticated waistband and narrow cuffs at the hem to stop them from riding up in the night and to keep the warmth in. In her video Lauren also shows you how to add topstitching to the top of the waistband for a cute finish and a lovely extra detail.
In this kit we've included specialist knit fabric notions to develop your skills and simplify the sewing. There's stretchy Maraflex thread for your seams and iron-on Stretchfix which will make hemming a breeze!
All kits include enough fabric to make two garments: your choice of version 1 or version 2 top with the pyjama bottoms.
This kit is available in three prints on two different base cloths: Blue Flower French Terry, Pink Flower French Terry and Tropical Cotton Jersey.
The French Terry fabrics are lovely and smooth with a brushed back, meaning they'll keep you snug and warm. They are 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so have good recovery and are breathable. They have a GSM of 240.
The vibrant Topical Cotton Jersey is an exclusive print here to us at g&g! This fabric feels so soft against the skin and is made from 92% cotton and 8% elastane, which makes the pyjamas super comfy to wear. The cotton content again means that the fabric is breathable and it is slightly lighter in weight than the French Terrys at 205gsm.
All kits include a length of off-white ribbing fabric for the neckband and cuffs. This stretchy fabric provides a great contrast with the main fabrics and helps to give a professional finish to the pyjamas. It is 95% cotton, 5% elastane with a weight of 265gsm.
