The Summer Cover Up from Style Arc is a loose fitting dress or tunic which is perfect for your summer adventures. Featuring a v-neck bodice with floaty grown-on sleeves, the Cover Up is both straightforward to sew and wear.

The gently swooping neckline is finished with a facing which is topstitched down, so there’s no risk of it popping out during wear! In her top tips video, Lauren demonstrates how to raise the neckline, should you prefer more coverage here.

At the waist there’s a cleverly constructed casing which holds a drawstring tie that can be let in and out depending on how fitted you want it. The cut of the Cover Up is loose and relaxed, meaning it’s easy to throw on over a swimsuit, but it’s also an equally lovely dress or top to wear when you’re not poolside!

The pattern includes tunic and maxi length options, but the skirt can also be cut to your preferred length, as Lauren did for her navy version. All views can have side seam splits which add elegance and movement to the garment.

For this much-requested kit we have sourced the most beautiful deadstock fabric. This embroidered cotton has delicate silver lurex stripes woven through it which add extra interest and shimmer prettily in the sunshine.

All kits include enough fabric to make the maxi length Cover Up.

Fabric

The fabric for this kit is available in three colours: coral, white and navy.

As soon as we saw this fabric we knew it was destined for a kit! This cotton blend fabric is ex-designer deadstock fabric which has delicate diamonds and stripes woven into it, as well as lurex stripes running vertically throughout.

The fabric is 98% cotton and 2% lurex, so it’s breathable and cool to wear in the heat. It has a lovely gentle drape and is easy to work with due to its cotton content.
