Our New Autumn Window Display - 2022

I loved making the sample of this jacket pattern! It's View B of this popular pattern and is surprisingly simple to make. I went off piste with the instructions and quilted a whole length of fabric before cutting the pieces out. The sample made for the mannequin is a Size 0 but it does come up pretty oversized so if you prefer a sung fit then size down. I used 1.9m of the Sevenberry fabric for that size and quilted it with cotton wadding and plain navy poplin using a walking foot and following the grid lines on the print of the fabric.

This simple top pattern is a great design for beginner or those looking for a quick make. It's raglan sleeve construction makes it nice and easy and with different sleeve variations you can easily change thing up for a different style using the same pattern.

For this version we made the longer length sleeve with gathers. To make more economical use of the fabric we narrowed the sleeve a little to make it less gathered.

We paired the Ilford jacket with another simple design - the strata top. This is a lovely little woven t-shirt/top pattern that is a great way to show off a stunning fabric print.

It has grown on sleeves and a curved dipped hem for added interest.
