Do you have a crafty child or teenager who has some sewing experience already, but wants to progress onto the next step and learn to make their own clothes?
Do you want to find something fun and imaginative to keep them occupied during the School Summer Holidays?
Across two 2 hour afternoon sessions (4 hours in total), and over two consecutive days, students will develop their skills in using a range of materials and sewing tools, including the sewing machine.
They will have the option to make either an outfit consisting of a pair of leggings and a t-shirt, OR a breezy summer dress. They will learn how to cut out their fabric using a paper pattern, and a range of sewing techniques relevant to their chosen project.

Helen discovered her love of craft from a young age, always making and creating things as a child with her mom and sister. Her nan, a talented dressmaker, has been of huge inspiration to her over the years and sparked her interest in making garments.
Helen studied Fashion & Textiles Design at Leeds University, and here her passion for learning new skills and techniques developed. Previously a secondary school teacher of Design & Technology and Textiles, she loves nothing more than inspiring children to be creative, learn new skills and make things that they can be proud of. With over 14 years of teaching experience she has taught a wide range of ages and cannot wait to teach the future generation of sewists here at the g&g Stitch Academy.
