Sew a Summer Dress

Learn how to make a gorgeous summery dress in this fun one day workshop! Choose between these beautiful dress patterns for summery swishiness style!

The Friday Pattern Company Wilder Gown - this classic buffet style dress features two gathers tiers that can be customised to different lengths. With raglan sleeves and a tie neckband it can be styled in different ways and worn open to tied in a cute bow.

The Tilly and the Buttons Lotta Dress - This easy to make, with no fiddly bits, dress is perfect for confident beginners. It has a blousy bodice and flared skirt, cinched in with a narrow elasticated waistline. Choose between knee-length or midi-length skirt, with grown-on short sleeves or bracelet-length drop shoulder sleeves, with optional deep patch pockets. To make it even more versatile, you can make this dress in either woven fabric or stretchy jersey.

Tilly and The Buttons Skye Dress - Reach for this throw-it-on sundress on those sticky, hot summer days when you don’t know what else to wear, or layer it up over a t-shirt as the sun goes down. The easy-fitting empire waist bodice is gently shaped with pleats under the bust and has a neat bias binding finish on the inside. The slightly square scoop neckline is designed to cover a bra, with optional bra strap stays for added security. Add the optional faux ties to the straps for an extra touch of whimsy. Choose from mini-, knee- or maxi-length hemlines for the floaty, gathered skirt. And, of course, it has side seam pockets for your ice cream money!
