Friday Pattern Company Adrienne Blouse - The Adrienne Blouse is a fashion forward wardrobe essential. It is a knit top with billowy statement sleeves that are gathered up at the shoulders and hems with elastic. The length is slightly cropped with the hem hitting just below your belly button.
Tilly And The Buttons Pearl Cardigan - Elevate your knitwear with the Tilly And The Buttons Pearl Cardigan, a V neck wrap cardigan that's bang on trend. Pearl is cropped at the waist and fastens at the side with an adjustable tie. It has dropped shoulders, a relaxed fit across the bust and a deep hem band.
Choose between classic long straight sleeves, short sleeves or statement balloon sleeves with cosy cuffs. Wear Pearl with jeans, a denim skirt or over your favourite dress - it's the perfect cardigan to tie your look together.

It is a great beginner sewing pattern and includes pattern pieces to make the top from a knit or woven fabric! Also included are front pieces drafted for A/B cup and C/D cup!

Further Information
Skills will be dependent on the pattern chosen and the type of fabric you choose but may include:
- Tips for cutting out and finding the grain of the fabric and direction of stretch
- How to use a pattern to cut out your fabric
- How to sew the garment together using a regular sewing machine - type of stitches and needle
- How to use a twin needle
- How to stabilise the shoulder seams
- How to work with drapey fabrics
- How to insert a sleeve on the flat
- How to use maraflex thread (Optional)
- Lots of top tips for sewing with stretchy fabrics
- How to sew a square neckline

- Your very own copy of your chosen sewing pattern (the Friday Pattern Company Square neck top will be a PDF print out of the pattern and instructions emailed to you). If you fall out of the size range of the pattern included, please let us know in advance and we can arrange an alternative for you
- Use of all machines, tools and equipment
- Stabilising tape for the shoulder seams
- Tea/coffee and biscuits (please bring a packed lunch or visit one of the lovely local cafes)

We can then determine which size you will need and make sure we have the correct pattern for you. We can also then advise on how much fabric you would need to get, depending on your pattern of choice and which version you would like to make. You will also need some matching thread - either standard Gutermann sew all thread or Maraflex thread.
Cotton jersey fabrics are generally easier to work with so if you are still fairly new to dressmaking this will be a better choice. If you are generally a more experienced dressmaker, then a viscose or modal jersey fabric will pose an extra challenge.
* Please note - we would recommend you pre-wash all knit fabrics and air dry them flat prior to attending the workshop! Guidance for pre washing and drying fabric can be seen here *
Lorna Hulme
Lorna is forever grateful to her Mum for teaching her to sew as an adult. She fell in love with everything sewing! So much so that she couldn’t bear to keep these skills to herself. Being driven by her passion for inspiring other people to sew, Lorna spent 7 years sharing this love of sewing through teaching others in her own sewing workshop business.
Lorna joined the Guthrie & Ghani team in January 2024 as the Workshops and events coordinator. She is responsible for organising the programme of events and sewing workshops and will be joining the team of sewing tutors too.
Lorna loves all aspects of sewing but her particular passion is dressmaking.
When she’s not sewing she enjoys running, cycling, running around after 2 teenagers and drinking hot chocolate!
