Do you know how to use a sewing machine? Are you keen to get started on making your own lovely clothes and getting to grips with understanding a sewing pattern, but unsure where to start? Then this 1 day workshop may be just for you!

Our new one day workshop is the perfect class if you can already use a sewing machine to make simple craft projects, but want to learn how to make a garment.

During the workshop the tutor will then guide you through how to measure yourself, teach you how to understand a sewing pattern, and cut out your chosen fabric.

About this workshop

You will make a woven top using the popular Ashton Top from Helen's Closet. This pattern is great for sewing newbies. It's also very versatile, as you will have the option to make a sleeveless version, or use the Sleeve Expansion Pack to include a variety of sleeve options. The pattern comes in Size Range: 0-30 (up to a 58″ / 147.5 cm bust). You will need to select the choice between a B-cup pattern from sizes 0-22, and a D-cup pattern from sizes 12-30.

Please note that it's likely you will have some finishing touches to complete at home, such as the hem or adding the optional pockets.
