Wardrobe Essentials at Abbey Home Farm Retreat Itinerary

This is the proposed itinerary for our stay at Abbey Home Farm. It may be subject to change and we will confirm the timings prior to the retreat.

Thursday

Arrive 4.30pm-5pm

Orientation and farm walk 5pm

Settle into accommodation

Dinner 6.30pm-8pm

8pm onwards - final planning and discussion with tutors about what you hope to achieve on the retreat. You will have a dedicated 1:1 fitting session the tutors to help you measure yourself to determine size selection and any pattern adaptations that might be needed.

Friday

Breakfast 8am-9am

The Green room will be open from 9am for you to get settled in. The tutors will be leading the sewing time between 9.30am and 5.30pm. You are welcome to use and access the green room as and when you wish at any point of the day to work on your projects or just hang out and chat sewing with the other retreaters.

Lunch 1-2pm

We suggested you finish up sewing between 5 and 6pm. There are several short farm walks and circuits that you can go on, or have a glass of something cold and refreshing on the terrace at the cafe.

Dinner 6.30pm

8.30pm - Talk/demonstration on common pattern alterations and fitting adjustments. Lead by Layla this informal tutorial and Q&A will explain and help you to visualise how to make pattern adjustments for common fitting issues such as sway back, wide/broad shoulders, bust adjustments and crotch adjustments.  

Saturday

Breakfast 8am-9am

The Green room will be open from 9am for you to get settled in. The tutors will be leading the sewing time between 9.30am and 5.30pm. You are welcome to use and access the green room as and when you wish at any point of the day to work on your projects or just hang out and chat sewing with the other retreaters.

Lunch 1-2pm

We suggested you finish up sewing between 5 and 6pm. There are several short farm walks and circuits that you can go on, or have a glass of something cold and refreshing on the terrace at the cafe.

Dinner 6.30pm

Following dinner we can hold a fabric and pattern swap - bring along anything from your stash that you feel needs a new loving home.

The Green room will be open from 9am for you to get settled in. The tutors will be leading the sewing time from 9.30am. You are welcome to use and access the green room as and when you wish at any point of the day to work on your projects or just hang out and chat sewing with the other retreaters.

Breakfast 8am-9am followed by check out from the orchard accomodation by 10am

Lunch 1-2pm

Our day will come to an end at 3.30pm where we will bid each other farewell.
