For Autumn/Winter 2019’s Aesthetic Renaissance collection, Liberty Fabrics’ in-house design team drew inspiration from the adventurous life and artistic inspirations of their founder, Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty. Traveller, tastemaker and gentleman, Arthur’s passion for globetrotting and treasure-hunting with his wife Emma forms the basis of Liberty’s enduring appeal. Inspirations swing from expeditions in faraway lands to the peace and quiet of English country gardens, via the opulently stylised forms of the Aesthetic Movement and Art Nouveau styles. Eustacia is a typical Art Nouveau floral design created from a dense layout of stylised poppies. Originally printed in 1961, it was in turn based on an earlier design from the Liberty archive. Vibrant reds, teals and ambers contrast with the deep navy base in this Liberty Little Eustacia B Tana Lawn Fabric.
Tana Lawn cotton’s distinctive hand-feel and translucent softness make it a versatile favourite. A modern masterpiece of production, it is the perfect canvas to display Liberty Fabrics' most iconic prints. This is a cotton that behaves like silk – ultra-fine, with a fluid hand-feel and intense depth of colour that is truly unmatchable. An everyday marvel of a dress material, Tana Lawn cotton is soft yet durable, cooling yet warming, and even machine washable.
