With less than a week until we open our bricks and mortar store, things are just a bit busy here to say the least!
For those of you who are new visitors to the site, we have been renovating our new shop for over a year now. For those of you who have been following the renovations as they have progressed, you'll know how huge the transformation has been from a beaten up delerict building to a fully restored shop.
Ayaz and I have been working really hard, doing quite a bit of the work ourselves, while at the same time flying through the biggest learning curve we've ever been on, trying to get to grips with the ins and outs of setting up a retail business. Its been really really hard work but I can't wait to finally be able to open the doors and share my passion and enthusiasm for being creative.
We have never opened a shop before, so many things are new to us and we are still figuring a lot of it out. We've done everything we can to make sure we have a beautiful shop and space for people to be inspired and learn new things so if we don't quite have everything right just yet, please bear with us, and we thank you for all your support and patience so far. We want the business to grow and develop to meet the needs of all you creatives and fabric lovers out there!
So, back to the opening day!......
The doors will open at 10.30am where we will 'cut the ribbon' and open the door to welcome you in! Some of my Sewing Bee friends will be there to help and support me too!
Then you can come on in and explore the place! Downstairs, you can browse the around the shop.
Tilly and I will be cutting any fabric you fancy from the wall of fabric. Ann is hopefully popping in and Sandra and Stuart will also be there to give me a hand too, and I'm sure if you brought your Sewing Bee book along with you, we won't mind signing it at all! We will also have copies of the book that you can buy on the day and get signed.
You can also take a look up stairs at our creative studio where you can find out more about some of the workshops and classes we will be running. And you can sign up to future workshops on the opening day!
We have tasty homemade lemonade and cakes to share around too! While it lasts - I'd get there early!
We have also made up a little picture board of some of the picture we have taken as we renovated the building, I find it hard to believe myself now what a mess the place used to be in! It's soooo different now!
Some of you may have managed to pick up one of the opening day postcards. Everyone is welcome, whether you have a postcard or not, however, those of you who do are in with a chance of winning lots of g&g prizes! You can find out more details here.
So, I hope to see you there! I'm really excited! Yay!
