I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our SEW Saturday event on Saturday. I hope you had a great day?!
Seeing the studio buzzing with sewing chatter is always a really warming sight and that’s what the day was all about really - like minded people coming together to share their enthusiasm for all things sewing, with cake and tea and homemade lemonade on tap of course!
We had fun mini make and take workshops with different projects to choose from. It was lovely to see lots of kids come along too and practise their hand sewing skills.
We had a full programme of demonstrations where Claire and I shared our tips of everything from pressing gadgets to dart manipulation.
We had a haberdashery take on the traditional ‘guess the sweets in the jar’ competition (who remember that from school?!) and instead had guess the number of buttons in the jar. There was 694 in the end! Congratulations to Shaylah Andrews who guessed 677 and won a £10 g&g gift voucher. All entry fees were in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and we raised over £70 so that you for your support.
The winner of our ‘show stopper pin cushion’ was this gorgeous creation by Tracy Burnell! Thanks for your entry Tracy – it was very inspiring!
Thank you again for all your ongoing support as without you we wouldn't be here.
If you couldn't make this event then get the next one in your diary now! Christmas is only around the corner and we have something a bit different and really exciting planned for this year!
SAVE THE DATE - We will be hosting a 'festive bee' on Thursday 15th and Thursday 22nd December.
As places will be limited to 20 on each night, we've spread it over two evenings to give you more choice when it's such a busy time of year. I'll be announcing full details next week so stay tuned!
