New Emma Hardicker fabric
The Hydrangea Range

Blog / 6 February 2016

I’ve been a huge fan local Artist Emma Hardicker since before I opened the shop so I was really excited when a few years ago we started to stock her gorgeous fabrics. And now I’m even more excited to have her new range of the Hydrangea Print!

I love this print so much – in fact before the design made it to fabric it was originally two different art works that I also have up on my wall at home.

This one is Hydrangeas in Blue with a lovely navy coloured background and bright turquoise green leaves with subtle grey flowers heads.

And Hydrangea Print has a gorgeous yellowy leaf colour with soft biscuit beige flower heads.

Emma says,

“I have fond memories of Hydrangeas always being in the garden and always seeming to be in flower. To me they look very Japanese like little fans, which I wanted to capture in the design. The colours of Hydrangeas are beautiful and are offend tonal, white to light pinks, blues to purples and through the seasons the colour fades which I think adds to there beauty and interest.'

'My colour pallet reflects these calm colours with a misty pink, dusky blue and finally a mole grey representing the end of the season, these colours will sit elegantly and work softly within your home - the perfect life for a room and bring a little outdoors in.”

All of Emma’s fabric are screen printed in the UK onto 100% cotton and are suitable for light upholstery – so cushion covers, bags, curtains, blinds, quilts, table runners and lampshades all work well.

The fabric width is 142cm/56” (printed area is 138cm/54.5”) and the pattern repeat is 69cm wide and 64cm height.

We have all three colour ways in stock now - The Dusky Pink, Mole Grey, and Misty Blue. Just click on the highlighted text to see the fabric or you can browse them in the 'Just Arrived' Section of the shop. The fabric's are £48 per meter and are listed online to buy by the half meter. If you would prefer a specific amount you can give us a call to order over the phone (for example 70cm).

I think the grey is my favourite!
